“Changing the World by Changing the Way We Learn®

"The improvement of understanding is for two ends: first, our own increase of knowledge; secondly, to enable us to deliver that knowledge to others." ~John Locke

The degree of quality in the instruction delivered to all races, cultures, and learners of English as a second language will directly impact America's future as a world leader in the Knowledge Age. This solution will help instructors address the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse learners and understand the driving needs of a culturally and linguistically diverse learner population.

This comprehensive blended model of professional learning will provide an opportunity for you to explore concepts of lifelong learning and personal mastery with others who share your common goals, frustrations, and interests. You will be pursuing a deeper level of knowledge and application of what it means to be a lifelong learner so that you can pass these essential skills on to your team members, staff, and students.

To better serve diverse learners, today's classroom instructors  need an understanding of the process of teaching and learning in the Knowledge Age. In this solution learners will experience four distinct characteristics of Knowledge Age instruction as they develop competencies integrating technologies and proven learning strategies.

All learning environments have at least one learner who does not fit the mold. However, learning environments are rarely organized to respond well to variations in learner readiness, interest, or learning profile. Differentiated instruction holds the key to creating enriching, engaging, and dynamic learning environments.

This solution serves as a model of a learning experience that incorporates the curriculum design and assessment concepts found in Understanding by Design, authored by Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe. Participants will develop competencies in instructional design and delivery using blended models of teaching and learning.
